But for Dharmendra Nahar, founder and director of Green Roots Agro, it was a heartfelt calling — a return to his roots and a purpose beyond profit.

A Decade in IT – Serving People through Technology

A graduate in Computer Science, Dharmendra Nahar began his professional journey in the IT sector. Over a span of 10 years, he provided a wide range of IT services to individuals and businesses, contributing to digital growth and offering practical solutions to people’s technological challenges. His work was deeply rooted in service, aiming to uplift users through access to smart and efficient tools.

A Deep-Rooted Passion for Nature

Despite his professional success, Dharmendra always felt a profound connection with nature, soil, and sustainability—a bond that originated in childhood. Driven by this passion, in 2017, he made a life-changing decision: to devote himself to agriculture, forestry, and environmental conservation.

To lay a solid foundation, he underwent rigorous training from renowned institutes such as:

  • IWST, Bangalore – Institute of Wood Science and Technology

  • Rajasthan Agricultural Research Institute (RARI), Rajasthan

  • FFDC, Kannauj – Fragrance & Flavour Development Centre

  • Sri Sri Ravi Shankar Ashram – in Organic and Spiritual Farming

He also specialized in:

  • Aromatic Farming

  • Sandalwood Nursery Management

  • Medicinal & Organic Farming

Leading Aroma Farming in Bundelkhand

With support from CIMAP (Central Institute of Medicinal and Aromatic Plants), Lucknow, Dharmendra launched several pioneering initiatives in the Bundelkhand region, known for its challenging agricultural conditions.

He promoted aromatic crops like:

  • Lemongrass

  • Palmarosa

  • Mentha (Mint)

  • Tulsi (Holy Basil)

He not only encouraged farmers to adopt these high-value crops but also helped establish advanced distillation units to ensure better processing and income generation for local cultivators.

Green Roots Agro – A Mission of Green Revival

To channel his vision into action, Dharmendra founded Green Roots Agro, an agroforestry and consulting firm that operates across Madhya Pradesh and other parts of India. The firm is dedicated to:

  • Promoting White Sandalwood (Santalum Album) plantation

  • Reviving endangered tree species through community-based afforestation

  • Guiding farmers in contract farming, organic practices, and sustainable land use

Under his leadership, Green Roots Agro has become a trusted name in the field of agroforestry, land development, and sustainable farming consulting.
